When asked during a Facebook live interaction with fans if a remake of the Amitabh-Jaya-starrer should be made, Abhishek said, “Abhimaan is a very extraordinary movie. From all the movies that my mom and dad have done, this one is my favourite but to make a remake out of it will be very difficult.”

“Recently, there was some talk that a remake of the movie should be made with Aishwarya and I. But we both thought that it was such a good movie, that we shouldn’t touch it. Certain films, should just be left alone. You can’ remake them. There is a magic about them that should be left untouched. So, as of now, nothing is in the pipeline,” he added.

Directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee, the 1973 film traced the sweet-bitter journey of a couple and their struggle of egos as they taste fame in the film industry. While Jaya Bachchan won a Filmfare award for her performance in the film, SD Burman, too, bagged a Filmfare for the music. All the songs of the film were chartbusters and remain on top of melodious playlists till date.

While Abhishek was last seen in All The Best while Aishwarya Rai Bachchan last appeared in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil.
